Vár is agoddess ofpromises andagreements inNorse mythology. She listens to people that make agreements with one another. She also punishes those that break their promises andcontracts. Vár is described in thePoetic Edda and theProse Edda. The contracts that Vár makes are calledvarar. Her name means 'pledge' or 'beloved'.
