  Unitary states

Aunitary state is astate whose threeorgans of state are ruledconstitutionally as one unit, with centrallegislature. It differs from afederal state, in which the authority is divided between thehead (for example thecentral government of a country) and the political units governed by it (for example themunicipalities orprovinces of the country), and also granting some degree ofautonomy to those political subdivisions (e.g. As the permission to create their own regionallaws, for example).
