Thomas Robert "Tom" Laughlin (August 10, 1931 – December 12, 2013) was anAmerican actor, director, screenwriter, author, educator and political activist. He was known for his role as Billy Jack on the television seriesBilly Jack.[1] He ran forPresident of the United States in 1992, 2004, and 2008 for theDemocratic Party.

Laughlin died of complications from pneumonia on December 12, 2013 at Los Robles Hospital and Medical Center inThousand Oaks, California.[2]
