Terence Richard "Terry" McAuliffe (born February 9, 1957) is an American politician. In 2014, he became the 72ndGovernor of Virginia. His term ended on January 13, 2018, when he was succeeded in his position by Lieutenant GovernorRalph Northam.[1]
McAuliffe began his business career at the age of 14.[2] He was seen as a possible candidate forPresident of the United States in the2020.[3]
On December 8, 2020, McAuliffe announced he would run for Governor again in the 2021 election.[4] In June 2021, he won the Democratic nomination winning 62% of the vote. In November, he lost the election toRepublicanGlenn Youngkin.[5]
