Karl Marx Hof in Vienna is a famous housing complex, built in the late 1920s. It is rectangular, over1 kilometre (0.62 mi) long, and probably among the biggest such buildings in the world

Subsidized housing is the idea to create housing opportunities (usuallyflats) for people who have trouble finding a flat on thefree market. Usually, this means that there is a maximumrent. Very often, thegovernment pays part (or all) of this rent. People who get the apartments or flats need to meet certain criteria.
