Sture Allén (31 December 1928 – 20 June 2022) was a Swedish linguist and professor. He worked at theUniversity of Gothenburg. He was the permanent secretary of theSwedish Academy between 1986 and 1999. He was born inGothenburg. Allén was elected to chair 3 of the Swedish Academy in 1980.[1] Allén was also a member of theNorwegian Academy of Science and Letters.[2] He was elected a member of theAcademia Europaea in 1989.[3]
Allén died on 20 June 2022 inGothenburg, Sweden at the age of 93.[4]
