Stanley Earl Kramer (September 29, 1913 – February 19, 2001) was anAmerican movie director and producer. He was born inNew York City. Kramer studied atNew York University.

Kramer was known for his works inHigh Noon (1952, as producer),The Caine Mutiny (1954, as producer),The Defiant Ones (1958),On the Beach (1959),Inherit the Wind (1960),Judgment at Nuremberg (1961),It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World (1963),Ship of Fools, (1965) andGuess Who's Coming to Dinner (1967).

In 1945, Kramer had anannulled marriage with actressMarilyn Erskine. From 1950 to 1963, he was married to Anne Pearce. In 1966, Kramer marriedKaren Sharpe and lasted until Kramer's death in 2001. Kramer had four children, two with Pearce and two with Sharpe.

Kramer died on February 19, 2001 inLos Angeles,California frompneumonia, aged 87.[1]
