Soman

Soman is the name of anerve agent, which was developed inGermany, in 1944.NATO use the abbreviationGD for Soman. During the 1930s, and 1940s, three nerve agents were developed. The two others wereTabun (1936) andSarin (1942). Soman is the most stable of the three. Sunlight does not affect it. In the air, it will slowly decompose. It cannot be dissolved in water. Under standard conditions it is a colorless liquid.

Soman is achemical weapon. Producing, stockpiling or owning it is heavily regulated, and monitored by theOrganisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons.
