Sean Stuart Cairncross (born July 12, 1974) is an American politician, lawyer and businessman. He is a member of theRepublican Party.

Early life

Cairncross was born inRamsey, Minnesota.[2] His family was raised as members of theChurch of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.[2] He studied atUniversity of Cambridge and atNew York University School of Law.

Career

Cairncross was the chief executive officer of theMillennium Challenge Corporation from 2019 to 2020. He was a senior adviser to U.S. PresidentDonald Trump during his first presidency.[3][4][5] He was the chief operating officer for theRepublican National Committee.

National Cyber Director

Cairncross was nominated by PresidentDonald Trump to be theNational Cyber Director on February 11, 2025.[6]
