Peter Munk (November 8, 1927 – March 28, 2018[2]) was aHungarian-bornCanadian businessman and philanthropist. He founded and chairedBarrick Gold, the world's largest gold-mining corporation.
Munk was founder, chairman and CEO ofTrizec Properties (formerly TrizecHahn Corporation), one of the largest Americanreal estate investment trusts. In 2006, Trizec Properties was sold toBrookfield Properties.[3]
Munk died in Toronto on March 28, 2018 ofheart failure at the age of 90.[4][5]
