Peptide

Peptides areorganic chemicalmolecules. They arepolymers made from linkingamino acids together in a certain order. The link between one amino acid residue and the next is known as anamidebond or apeptide bond.

Linking peptides together givesproteins, which arepolypeptides.


Skeletal formula of Gly-Gly. The peptide bond is between the carbon that is double bonded to the oxygen, and the nitrogen.

Gly-Gly, orGlycylglycine is (a dipeptide and also) the simplest peptide; It is the dipeptide ofGlycine.[1]
