Paul Winchell (bornPaul Wilchinsky; December 21, 1922 – June 24, 2005) was an American actor, comedian, humanitarian, inventor and ventriloquist. He was born on December 21, 1922 inNew York City. From 1950 to 1954, he hostedThe Paul Winchell Show. From 1965–1968, Winchell hosted the children's television seriesWinchell-Mahoney Time. In animation, he was the original voice ofTigger,Dick Dastardly,Gargamel and other characters.
He had three children; including actressApril Winchell.
Winchell died on June 24, 2005 inLos Angeles, aged 82.[1]
