TheOrder of Saint Augustine is amendicantreligious order of theCatholic Church. It was founded in 1244 after groups oferemitical in the Tuscany region who were following theRule of Saint Augustine, written byAugustine of Hippo in the fifth century.[2]
In the2025 papal conclave,Leo XIV was elected as the first pope from the Order of Saint Augustine.[3][4]
