North American Aviation (NAA) was anAmerican aircraft manufacturer which built several important planes and spacecraft.
It was founded in 1928 to buy airlines, but then was forced to give up its control of those airlines because of theAir Mail act of 1934. It then went into manufacturing. The first plane it built was theT-6 Texan. It also built theB-25 Mitchell, theP-51 Mustang, and theF-86 Sabre. It later became part ofBoeing after a series of mergers.
