Ningaloo Reef is one of the largestcoralreefs in the world.[1] It is off theNorthwest Cape inWestern Australia. It is about 260 km (162 mi) long.
Ningaloo has about 200species of hard coral and 50 species of soft coral.[2] More than 520 species offish live on the reef.[2] Species that can be found at the reef includewhale sharks,manta rays,humpback whales,dugongs, andPotato Cod.[2] There are also six of the world's sevensea turtles including theGreen turtle,Loggerhead Sea Turtle,Hawksbill turtle andFlatback turtle.[2][3]
The Ningaloo Reef Marine Park covers anarea of about 5000 square kilometers.[1]
The reef is popular with people from all over the world who come to goscuba diving andsnorkelling.
