Narayani (Nepali:नारायणी अञ्चलListen (help·info)) was one of the fourteenzones of Nepal, in the central south of the country.[1] It was named after theNarayani River on the western border of the zone.[2]
Narayani occupied parts of theTerai,Inner Terai, andHill regions of Nepal, but it did not cover any of the Mountain or Himalayan region. Narayani was rich in flora and fauna.Narayani River andRapti River were the main rivers of Narayani zone. Bisharari and Garuda lakes were some of the few lakes in Narayani.
