Mswati III (born asPrince Makhosetive on 19 April 1968)[2] is theKing ofEswatini and head of theSwazi Royal Family. He was born inManzini, Eswatini, to KingSobhuza II. Mswati was supported byapartheid South Africa early on during his rule.[3] In the 21st century, he has been criticized by manyactivists for how he runs Eswatini.[4] He is apolygamist who forced Swazi women tomarry him[5] and has put people inprison for being critical of his government innewspapers.[6][7]
