Morena Silva de Vaz Setta Baccarin[2] (born June 2, 1979) is an American actress. She is best known for her role asInara Serra in thesci-fitelevision seriesFirefly and themovieSerenity.
Baccarin was born on June 2, 1979[3] inRio de JaneiroBrazil. Her father is ofItalian descent. Her mother is Brazilianstage and television actressVera Setta.
When she was 10, Baccarin moved with her family toGreenwich Village,New York, in theUnited States.[4] She later attended theFiorello H. LaGuardia High School of Music & Art and Performing Arts (theHigh School in the movieFame) before she studied theater atJuilliard.[5]
