
Jessica Alyssa Cerro (born 14 August 1995), better known asMontaigne, is anAustralianart pop singer, songwriter and musician. Her first album,Glorious Heights, was released in 2016. It peaked at No. 4 on theARIA Albums Chart. At theARIA Music Awards of 2016, she wonBreakthrough Artist – Release for the album and wasnominated for three other categories. Also in 2016, she was a featured vocalist on theHilltop Hoods track "1955". The single reached No. 2 on the ARIA Singles Chart.
Montaigne was meant to represent Australia at theEurovision Song Contest 2020 with her song "Don't Break Me". However, due to the2019–20 coronavirus pandemic, the contest was cancelled. She will instead represent her country in2021.[1]
Montaigne was born inSydney,New South Wales. She grew up in theHills District. She has said herethnic background is a mixture ofArgentine,Spanish,Filipino andFrench.
