Michael Edward "Mike" Lowry (March 8, 1939 – May 1, 2017) was the 20th Governor ofWashington. He was governor from 1993 to 1997. Lowry is aDemocrat.
Lowry ran twice for theUnited States Senate. He failed both times. In a 1983 special election,Republican former GovernorDan Evans beat Lowry.
Lowry died on May 1, 2017 from complications of astroke inOlympia, Washington, aged 78.[1]
