Mehmed V Reşâd (2 November 1844 – 3 July 1918) was the 35thSultan of theOttoman Empire. He reigned from 27 April 1909 to 3 July 1918. He was born inIstanbul in 1844 and died in 1918 at the age of 73. From 1911-1913 theItalians tookLibya and theBalkans had formed a Christian coalition and started a war with theOttoman Empire. It pushed theOttomans away back toAnatolia andEgypt. He was involved inWorld War 1 in theCaucasus Campaign (Russo-Turkish War: 1914-1918) fighting theRussian Empire as well as theGallipoli Campaign fighting theBritish Empire andFrance. He was also involved in theRussian Revolution duringThe Great War but was not involved in theArmenian genocide byEnver Pasha.
