Matthew Marinelli (born March 20, 1985) is an Americanprofessional wrestler. He currently wrestles forAll Elite Wrestling (AEW) and their sister promotionRing of Honor (ROH) under the ring nameMatt Taven. He is a member of TheUndisputed Kingdomstable.
Taven has also made appearances inRing of Honor (ROH) (before AEW's buyout),New Japan Pro-Wrestling (NJPW),Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre (CMLL), andImpact Wrestling.
Taven has won many championships over the course of his career. In CMLL, Taven was a one-timeNWA World Historic Welterweight Champion. In Impact, he was a one-timeImpact World Tag Team Champion. In NJPW, he was a one-timeIWGP Tag Team Champion. In ROH, he is a one-timeROH World Champion, one-timeROH World Television Champion, three-timeROH World Tag Team Champion, three time and firstROH World Six-Man Tag Team Champion, the winner of the Top Prospect Tournament in 2013 and ROH World Six-Man Tag Team Championship Tournament in 2016, and is a Fifth Triple Crown Champion, as well as a Second Grand Slam Champion.
On the October 14, 2022 episode ofRampage, Taven made his AEW alongsideMike Bennett andMaria Kanellis.[1] On the October 28 episode ofRampage, Taven challengedWardlow for hisAEW TNT Championship but was unsuccessful.[2]
AtSupercard of Honor, Taven and Bennett entered the"Reach for the Sky" ladder match in an attempt to win the vacantROH World Tag Team Championships but the match was won by TheLucha Brothers (Penta El Zero Miedo andRey Fénix).[3] AtDeath Before Dishonor, Taven and Bennett challenged for theROH World Tag Team Championship in afour-way tag team match but it was won byAussie Open (Kyle Fletcher andMark Davis).[4] In December 2023, Taven and Bennett wore masks and were called "The Devil's Masked Men". AtNew Year's Smash, they both defeatedMJF in ahandicap match to win the ROH World Tag Team Championship.[5] AtWorlds End, Taven and Bennett were revealed as the masked men and they created theUndisputed Kingdomstable, alongsideAdam Cole,Roderick Strong, andWardlow.[6]
AtBattle of the Belts XI, The Undisputed Kingdom challenged The Sons of Texas (Dustin Rhodes,Marshall Von Erich, andRoss Von Erich) for the vacantROH World Six-Man Tag Team Championships but were unsuccessful.[7] On the August 17 episode ofCollision, The Undisputed Kingdom lost the ROH World Tag Team Championships to Dustin Rhodes andSammy Guevara.[8] On the September 21 episode ofCollision, Taven and Bennett challenged Sons of Texas to a rematch for the ROH World Tag Team Title in aBunkhouse Brawl but lost.[9] On the October 3 episode of ROH on HonorClub, Taven challengedMark Briscoe for hisROH World Championship but was unsuccessful.[10]
