Amashgiach (Hebrew: משגיח, lit. "supervisor"; pl. משגיחים, mashgichim) is aJew who supervises thekashrut status of akosher establishment. They usually supervise places where food is produced, such asslaughterhouses,food manufacturers,hotels,caterers, nursing homes, restaurants,butchers or groceries.
