M. P. Veerendra Kumar (22 July 1936– 28 May 2020) was anIndian politician, writer and journalist. He was aMember of Parliament forLok Sabha from 1996 to 1998 and again from 2004 to 2009. He was also a member ofRajya Sabha from 2016 to 2017 and again from 2019 to 2020. He was a member of theLoktantrik Janata Dal political party.
He was also the chairman and managing director of the Malayalam daily newspaperMathrubhumi.
Kumer died ofcardiac arrest at a hospital inCalicut, India on 28 May 2020, aged 83.[1]
