MarshalLon Nol (Khmer:លន់ នល់, alsoលន់ ណុល; 13 November 1913 – 17 November 1985) was aCambodianpolitician andmilitary leader. He led acoup against PrinceNorodom Sihanouk in 1970.[1] Nol made himself President of the newly created Khmer Republic. TheKhmer Rouge took leadership of Cambodia. Lon Nol fled from Cambodia toIndonesia and then to theUnited States (US).
