"Lips Are Movin" is a song by American singer-songwriterMeghan Trainor from her debut major-label studio album,Title (2015). It was written by Trainor and the album's producer,Kevin Kadish.Epic Records released the song to United States contemporary hit radio stations on October 21, as the secondsingle fromTitle.[1] Aretro-tingedpop,doo-wop andR&B song with girl-groupharmonies andbubblegum pophooks,[2][3][4] "Lips Are Movin" was inspired by Trainor's conflict with herrecord label. However, critical commentary has described it as a song about Trainor leaving her significant other after discovering he is cheating on her.[5][6]

Critics drew similarities between the song's style and that of Trainor's debut single, "All About That Bass" (2014). Some said the song was catchy, while others criticized its lyrics. In the United States, "Lips Are Movin" reached number 4 on the Billboard Hot 100 and was certifiedquadruple platinum by theRecording Industry Association of America (RIAA). It receivedplatinum or multi-platinum certifications in Australia, Canada, New Zealand, and theUnited Kingdom, and reached the top 10 on their charts among others.

Philip Andelman directed themusic video for "Lips Are Movin", which was commissioned by the technology companyHewlett-Packard.[7] The first-ever music video created entirely bysocial media influencers, it portrays behind-the-scenes events of avideo shoot.[8][9] Trainor performed "Lips Are Movin" on televised shows such asToday,[10]The Voice,[11] and[Dancing with the Stars,[12] and included it on the set lists for three of herconcert tours: 2015'sThat Bass Tour andMTrain Tour and 2016'sthe Untouchable Tour.[13][14]
