Limoux is along theAude river and is about 30 km (19 mi) due south ofCarcassonne.

Thecommune of Limoux has an area of 32.4 km2 (12.5 sq mi).[2] Its averagealtitude is 448 m (1,470 ft) and thecity hall is an altitude of 169 m (554 ft).[3]
