Lee Sherman Dreyfus (pronouncedDRAY-fuss; June 20, 1926 – January 2, 2008) was an American educator and politician. He was a member of theRepublican Party. He was the40thGovernor of Wisconsin from January 4, 1979 to January 3, 1983.
Dreyfus died ofrespiratory failure caused byheartsurgery on January 2, 2008 inWaukesha, Wisconsin at the age of 81.[1]
