Kymenlaakso is a region inFinland. As of November 2013, there were over 180,000 people living there. Neighbouring regions areUusimaa,Päijänne Tavastia,Southern Savonia andSouth Karelia.

Municipalities in the region areHamina,Iitti,Kotka,Kouvola,Miehikkälä,Pyhtää andVirolahti. Kymenlaakso was one most earliestindustrialized areas in Finland, since around the 1800s.
