Kroger is a retailsupermarket chain in theUnited States. As of 2010, it had 3,619 stores.[1] Bernard Kroger opened the first Kroger store in 1883 inCincinnati, Ohio. The company'sheadquarters are still in Cincinnati today. In 1999, the company merged with Fred Meyer, Inc.[2]
