Kazuo Koike (小池 一夫,Koike Kazuo, 8 May 1936 – 17 April 2019) was aJapanesemanga writer andbusinessman. He was best known for his seriesLone Wolf and Cub (1970–1976) andLady Snowblood (1972–1973). He was added to theEisner Award Hall of Fame in 2004. He was born inDaisen,Akita Prefecture.
Koike died ofpneumonia on 17 April 2019, at the age of 82. He died less than a week after his rivalMonkey Punch, also caused by pneumonia.[1]
