ThePalace of Kangla (Old Manipuri:ꯀꯪꯂꯥ,romanized: kang-laa,lit. 'dry land') was the earliest knownfortifiedcapital city ofAncient Manipur.[1] It served as the seat of administration of the rulers of many dynasties, right from the reign of EmperorTangja Leela Pakhangba in 1445 BC (15th century BC),[2] though significant advanced developments belonged to the post periods ofNongda Lairen Pakhangba (33 AD - 153 AD).[3][4][5]
