Sudini Jaipal Reddy (16 January 1942 – 28 July 2019) was an Indian politician. He was the member of theLok Sabha of India for five terms.[1]
He represented theChevella constituency ofTelangana and was a member of theIndian National Congress.
He was a Union Minister for Information and Broadcasting in theI. K. Gujral cabinet in 1998. In 1999 he returned to Indian National Congress after 21 years. In 2004 he was re-elected to14th Lok Sabha fromMiryalaguda Lok Sabha Constituency and then he was a Union Minister forInformation and Broadcasting and Union Minister forUrban Development in theUnited Progressive Alliance-1.[2]
In 2009 he was re-elected to the15th Lok Sabha from theChevella constituency and was a Union Minister forUrban Development and Union Minister forPetroleum and Natural Gas.
He was the Union Minister for theMinistry of Earth Sciences and theMinistry of Science and Technology from 29 October 2012 to 18 May 2014.
Reddy died on 28 July 2019 at a hospital inHyderabad ofpneumonia at the age of 77.[3]
