Anilluminated manuscript is ahandwrittenbookdecorated withgold,silver, or miniaturepictures. Illuminated manuscripts were most commonly found inmedievalEurope, whereChristianity was thestate religion of variouskingdoms.[1] Illuminated manuscripts are said to have played a huge role in the history ofarts. The ease of carrying illuminated manuscripts from oneregion to another contributed to the spread ofknowledge.[1] From the15th century onwards, illuminated manuscripts were replaced byprinted manuscripts.[1]
