GeneralIdriss Déby Itno (Arabic:إدريس ديبي; June 18, 1952 – April 20, 2021) was aChadian politician. He becamePresident ofChad in 1990. He won six presidential elections.

Assassination

On 20 April 2021, Déby was killed while commanding his army against rebels calling themselvesFACT in the north of Chad during theNorthern Chad offensive, at the age of 68.[2][3][4][5]
