Harold Maurice Abrahams,CBE (15 December 1899 – 14 January 1978)[1] was an Englishtrack and field athlete. He wasOlympic champion in 1924 in the100 metres sprint. His victory at the 1924 Olympics is shown in the 1981 movieChariots of Fire where he is played byBen Cross. Abrahams was born inBedford,Bedfordshire.
Abrahams died on 14 January 1978 inLondon at the age of 78.
