Hans Modrow (German pronunciation: [ˈhans ˈmoːdʁo]; 27 January 1928 – 10 February 2023) was aGerman politician. He was best known as the lastcommunistpremier ofEast Germany. He was the honorary Chairman of theLeft Party.[1] After theGerman reunification, Modrow served as a member of theEuropean Parliament (1999–2004)[2] and of theBundestag.
