Gustav III (24 January [O.S. 13 January] 1746 – 29 March 1792Note on dates) wasKing of Sweden from 1771 until he was shot to death in 1792.[1] He was the eldest son of KingAdolph Frederick and QueenLouise Ulrika, who was a sister ofFrederick the Great, King ofPrussia.
