Grasshopper Club Zürich is aSwiss multisports club based inZürich. It is best known for itsfootball team. It is the most successful football club in the country. Grasshopper won the mostnational championship titles (27) and Swiss Cups (19).

History

Grasshopper was founded on 1 September 1886 by Tom E. Griffith, an English student. The first Swiss championships ( "Serie A") were held in 1897–98 and were won by Grasshopper.
