Gerhard Rodax (29 August 1965 – 16 November 2022) was an Austrian professionalfootballer. He played as astriker. Most of the league matches he played forAdmira/Wacker. He also played for theAustrian national football team and played in the1990 FIFA World Cup.
Rodax was born inTattendorf. He started his professional career atAdmira Wacker and stayed with them for seven years. In 1990 he becameAustrian Football Bundesliga top goalscorer. Then he went to the Spanish sideAtlético Madrid. After one season he returned to Austria and played forRapid Wien . With 28 years of age he finished his career in 1993. In the 1995–96 season he made a short comeback at Admira.
Rodax made his debut forAustria on 16 October 1985 versus Yugoslavia. His last match was on 1 May 1991 versus Sweden.[1] For Austria he played at the1990 FIFA World Cup, where he scored in the 2–1 win over theUSA inFlorence.[2] Rodax played 20 international matches. There he scored three goals.[3]
Rodax died nearTraiskirchen on 16 November 2022, at the age of 57.[4]
