George Robert Wendt (born October 17, 1948 inChicago, Illinois) is anAmerican television, voice, stage and movie actor. He is known for his role as Norm Peterson in the comedy showCheers. He has also appeared inMichael Jackson's music videoBlack or White. He hosted his own show,The George Wendt Show, before it was cancelled in April 1995. He is currently married to Bernadette Birkett since 1978 and have three children together and two step-children.
