Geoffrey Curgenven BoltonAO (5 November 1931 – 3 September 2015) was anAustralianhistorian, academic and writer. He was best known for his research and writings ofWestern Australian history. He wrote around thirteen books between 1958 and 2008. He also taught atuniversities such as theUniversity of Western Australia (UWA),Murdoch University andMonash University. In 2005, he was named WesternAustralian of the Year.
Bolton was born inPerth, Western Australia. He was educated at theOxford University and UWA. He was married to Carol Grattan and had two sons and five grandchildren.
Bolton died on 4 September 2015 in Perth, aged 83.[1]
