Emily Jacir (Arabic:املي جاسر, born1970 inBethlehem) is aPalestinianartist.[1] She usesmovies,photography,video andperformance art. Her work was first shown in 1994. Since then, it has been shown inexhibitions around the Americas, Europe and the Middle East.[2] It is held in museums inItaly,Palestine,England,San Francisco, and several museums inNew York.
Jacir won the Golden Lion for artists under 40 (French:Leone d'Oro a un artista under 40) at theVenice Biennale in October 2007.[3][4][5] She also won thePrince Claus Award in 2007.[6] In 2008, the won the annualHugo Boss Prize.[7]
