Edward Michael "Ed" Balls (born 25 February 1967) is aBritish currenttelevision presenter and a formerpolitician who is currently presenter for the ITV breakfast showGood Morning Britain. He was theshadowHome Secretary inEd Miliband's shadow cabinet. He was born inNorwich,Norfolk and moved toNottinghamshire during hischildhood. He is theLabour Party[1] and was theCo-operative PartyMember of Parliament (MP) for theconstituency ofMorley and Outwood in theHouse of Commons of the United Kingdom.
He was firstelected in the2005 general election and held the post of Secretary of State for Children, Schools and Families from June 2007 to May 2010. He was a candidate to become leader of the Labour Party in September 2010 and lost toEd Miliband. Ed Balls lost his seat in the2015 general election
