Dyne

Thedyne is aunit offorce stated in thecentimetre-gram-second system of units. It is a predecessor of the modernSI. The namedyne was first proposed as aCGS unit of force in 1873 by a Committee of theBritish Association for the Advancement of Science.[1] Thedyne per centimetre is a unit used to measuresurface tension.[2]
