Thedunnock (Prunella modularis) is a smallpasserine perching bird.

The bird has a very wide distribution. It is found throughout temperateEurope and into AsianRussia. Dunnocks have been introduced intoNew Zealand.

The bird is by far the most widespread member of the "accentors". These are agenus in the family Prunellidae. Other common names of the dunnock include hedge accentor, hedge sparrow, and hedge warbler.[1]
