Douglas Warren Diamond (born October 25, 1953)[1][2] is an American economist. He is currently a professor at theUniversity of ChicagoBooth School of Business.

In October 2022, Diamond was awarded theNobel Memorial Prize in Economic Sciences withBen Bernanke andPhilip H. Dybvig.[3][4]

Diamond is best known for his work on financial crises andbank runs.[5]
