
Derek Anthony Redmond (born 3 September 1965) is a former British sprinter. During his career, he held the record for the 400 metres sprint. He won gold medals in the 4x400 metres relay at the World Championships andEuropean Championships.[1]
In August 2014, Redmond was one of two hundred public figures who were signatories to a letter toThe Guardian. It opposedScottish independence in the run-up to September'sreferendum on that issue.[2]
Redmond previously served as Director of Development for sprints and hurdles for UK Athletics.
In 2015, Redmond joined psychometric assessment provider Thomas International as their Group Performance Director.[3]
