David Perron (born May 28, 1988) is aCanadian professionalice hockeyleft winger. He currently plays for theSt. Louis Blues of theNational Hockey League (NHL). He has also played for theVegas Golden Knights,Pittsburgh Penguins,Anaheim Ducks andEdmonton Oilers.

Career

Before playing in the NHL, Perron played 1 season with theSt-Jérôme Panthers of theQuebec Junior AAA Hockey League (QJAHL) and 1 season with theLewiston Maineiacs of theQuebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL). During his time with the Maineiacs, he was the leading scorer and scored 39 goals and 83 points. The team was able to win thePresident's Cup and also competed in theMemorial Cup. He was drafted 26th overall by theSt. Louis Blues in the2007 NHL Entry Draft.[1]

On October 2, 2007, the Blues decided to add Perron to the roster after he had an impressive training camp.[2] On November 3, 2007, he scored his first NHL goal against theChicago Blackhawks in a 3-2 loss.[3] On July 21, 2010, the Blues re-signed Perron to a two-year $4.3 million contract.[4] He only played 57 games during the2011–12 NHL season because of an injury. On July 5, 2012, he signed a four-year, $15.25 million contract with the Blues.[5]

On July 10, 2013, the Blues traded Perron to theEdmonton Oilers in exchange forMagnus Pääjärvi and a 2014 second-round draft pick.[6] He played 116 games in 2 seasons with Oilers.

On January 2, 2015, the Oilers traded Perron to thePittsburgh Penguins in exchange forRob Klinkhammer and a first-round pick.[7]
