David Hockney (2017)

David HockneyOMCHRA (born 9 July 1937) is aBritishartist. He was born inBradford,West Riding of Yorkshire. An important contributor to thepop art movement of the 1960s, he is one of the mostinfluential artists of the 20th century. He isopenly gay.[1]

Hockney's 1972 workPortrait of an Artist (Pool with Two Figures) sold at auction and broke the world record for a living artist[2] on 15 November 2018 when it sold for $90 million (£70 million) atChristie'sauction houseNew York City.[3][4][5]
